Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD) is a connective tissue disorder that causes joint hypermobility (where a persons joints have a greater range of movement than is expected or normal), instability, injury and pain. It can also cause other problems such as fatigue, headaches GI issues and autonomic dysfunction.
It is a spectrum disorder has some people may have mild or severe joint involvement. Two different people may experience very different symptoms and very different levels of these symptoms.
HSD For me
For me HSD causes a lot of joint pain and instability. This instability can result in often having subluxations, this is best explained as a partial dislocation. Where a bone or joint moves out of place but not completely. This is extremely painful for me. HSD may well be the cause behind a lot of my other issues such as my severe headaches and my GI issues. This could also be hEDS or another type of EDS but I have yet to be assessed.
