About me

Hi, I’m Katie, I’m 18 and live in the U.K. I have Very Severe ME, POTS, MCAS and other issues. A debilitating combination.  

 

I am currently bed ridden 24/7 due to my ME. When I do occasionally leave bed I have to hoist and use a power chair as I can’t stand or walk, and I have to remain reclined as I can't sit upright. 

I got ill at 13 after shingles although I had some mild symptoms of things before that. 

When well enough I enjoy carefully paced crafts from bed - I have a craft page @craftingfrombedbykatie and am selling a few cards from @bykatiecards I love card making and sending things to my online friends. 

One of the most important things to know is my instagram account and blog mean everything to me. Having become ill at 13 my life has not been easy. And neither has it been for many in this community. I’ve faced medical gaslighting and abuse, lost all my friendship group, lost my schooling, hobbies and sports. But that’s not unusual here. 

Here I’ve made better friends than I had and found such support. And I’ve been able to share my own posts that hopefully help people. It’s something that can still make me feel like I’m living and not just existing. Thank you again for allowing that and supporting it. 

This is one of my greatest achievements and greatest passions now.  

My messages are always open, I’ve made some of the greatest friends by saying that, I just may take a few days to reply.
